Mind over Matter

The mind is strange, beautiful thing. It can do amazing things that are unexplainable in science. Deep in the depths of the mind is the unknown.

The way neurons process images and beauty are mind-blowing. The mind can capture memories from years ago. It is able to sense surrounding and verbalize thoughts.
It is able to create virtual realities that we call dreams. It is able to learn knowledge and apply it to life.

The mind is something that truly amazing, and we may never know the true extent of what it is able to create; I'm strangely okay with that. If we knew everything about the mind, there would be no magic.

College Sales Pitch

I personally think is essential to go to college to pursue my interests. I think to shape the caterer I want in the future, I need a degree. It's about that time in life where I have to start narrowing down the colleges I'm thinking about attending. I have a few universities in mind.

It is hard to narrow down colleges I would want attend due to my indecisiveness. Nothing seems to be the perfect front runner college of choice. Every college seems to be a school when all the extras are stripped away.

They all give you the same sales pitch that drives me insane. It makes me reconsider them after I already crossed them off my list. How do they all persuade you like that? I hate how the clear cut facts are never present during the actual tour. Give me the absolute honest, real-deal, truth. Please.

I want to make the right decision. And I know, there is no perfect school. There is none. Point, blank, period. Every school has their faults, I'm discovering. The thing I have to figure out is what matters to me in a school.

Do I want to go to a school thats a good value for the money? A place with good research opportunities, co-ops, and internships? One with good dorms? One with all the little special details (that unique factor)? One with an extremely active social life? Big campus? big enough to have events? Good town? Close to home?

These our just a few jumbled thoughts in my mind. I have all these questions that I'm asking myself. It's all too much to me.

Some websites that have really helped my search for good universities are the college board websiteand college factual. It is completely free.  However, you must make an account for it to save your results.

They break down the college-picking process and suggest colleges to fit your needs. I think it is a really cool option for those who are interested in the cold, hard facts of a college.

Thank you for reading. See you tomorrow.

One of those days

It hasn't even been a good few days since I started my writing goal. I'm already drawing a blank.

I have ideas but I'm still drawing a blank. I have many drafts but none of them are "right". They are not wrapped in a nice package and ready for reading. They are in their raw state of writing. They look extremely rough.

A sentence here. A fragment there. Gibberish everywhere.

It's one of those days where nothing seems good. I'm still writing though. I'm keeping my promise, and I'm talking through my frustration through my writing.

Writing is very therapeutic for me. It is all very tranquil. This is one of reasons why I started writing again. I wanted to encourage myself to reflect on my life.

Blogging is very hard. I have to sit myself down and encourage myself to write my thoughts on virtual paper. Sometimes I just don't want to. However, I know it's for the best. You have to look at the big picture.

Farwell, I might have a better post for you guys tomorrow. Alright bye.

Personality Test: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (INTJ)

By Definition: The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is an extensive questionnaire on the way people view and make decisions in the world. It also helps identify the personality type of an given person.

The mother-daughter team of Katherine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers created the questionnaire inspired by Carl Jung. The questionnaire was based off the four concepts of sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking.

The opposite end of each spectrum became a letter. In total, it made sixteen personalities. I found this chart that illustrates the concept a little better:

http://mbtitoday.org/about-the-mbti-indicator/creation-of-the-mbti-types/

I found it extremely intriguing how accurate these personalities are at representing a person. It is amazing how a few questions can accurate portray a person's paersonality. The intensive research put into this study is phenomenal.

When taking the test myself I discovered my personality type was INTJ. Apparently that means I belong to the analyst group. I was a little surprised when the page told me that I had one the rarer personality types, but it makes sense "INTJs form just two percent of the population, and women of this personality type are especially rare, forming just 0.8% of the population - it is often a challenge for them to find like-minded individuals who are able to keep up with their relentless intellectualism and chess-like maneuvering" (16personalities.com). I never really found anyone that is a mirror image of me--personality wise. I have always had friends that share a few traits with me. They complement me as person, but they never seem like "twins".

I would never physically shoot anything.
It's a metaphor
Some famous INTJs are Martin Luther, Issac Newton, John F. Kennedy, Mark Zukerburg, Lewis Carroll, and Steven Hawking.

I even came across fictional characters that supposedly have the INTJ personality: Katniss Everdeen, Stewie Griffin, Mr. Darcy, Willy Wonka, and Sherlock. Fictional characters are up for debate. I have read many interpretations of INTJs in the fictional world. Feel free to add to or take anything away from the list. This topic is always up for debate.

The personality type of INTJ (Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging) is very isolated and observing. I never realized how analytic and private I am as a person.

I am very reserved. Some people classify that as me being shy. I kindly disagree, I just don't care for the conversation. I rather be alone than in a crowd of people.

I glorify knowledge and rationality.  I side with the side of rational thinkers. The cliche "knowledge is power" applies to my life in every aspect.

INTJs unite! (It is probably a good thing that there is not too many INTJs in the world. They would probably battle for dominance and cause an intense world-wide war.)

I would to know your personalities type.  Here is the exact test that I took: http://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test . I also took this test too: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp .I had to make sure my results were somewhat accurate. I even took a third test: http://www.truity.com/test/type-finder-research-edition

Feel free to leave your personality type in the comments. See you tomorrow.

OMG.

I'm back.

Long time, no see. Hello, my friend.

Its been a while...I haven't written a blog post for about a year. Almost a year. 320 days to be accurate. 7680 hours. 460,800 minutes. 27,648,000 seconds. That is crazy amount of time.
I kind of ventured off the path of writing. I used to love writing (fragments and typos included). I really wanted to get back into my writing, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I have no great excuse or sympathizing reason for my absence. To be honest, no one probably even realized I was even gone.

This is just an introductory post to my blog. Welcome. Some things are going to be changing around here.

I'm hoping if I write everything out, I will feel obligated to do it. So here goes nothing:

  •        I want to write everyday (even if I only publish one sentence)
  •        I want to inspire (that has been my goal since day one)
  •        Build "my brand" and promote myself
  •        Interact more with writing communities.

The list is short, but that doesn't mean it will be easy.  I'll see you tomorrow. If you have any good advice for beginning writers, I would love to know. How to stay motivated in my writing? How to stay persistent?  Where to find inspiration?

College Search: The Drama

Is it really time to start thinking about college?

This is a debatable topic that many struggle over. And I know I want to go to college but I don't why. I know I'm supposed to. I know the outcome. I know it matters but why does it manner?

Sometimes college looks like a happy place to explore. Other times college looks like another hoop to jump through.

I feel conflicted.

I do, I do want to go to college. I just wish I never if I was ready or not when the opportunity comes in the near future. I hope I'm ready. I wish I didn't doubt myself--not my ability but my commit.

I don't want to waste my time getting a degree that I don't want nor wish to prosper in.

I think my main concern is fear. Fear that I won't enjoy what I do. Fear that I will not like my field.  Fear that something better is out there and I didn't find it.

I know that college is pretty cool but I just want to know if I'm there for the right reasons.

I have been taking various tests determining possible college majors. Most of them end of with engineering and mathematical careers. I looked into engineering as you may know but now I'm second-guessing everything. EVERYTHING.

I am conflicted.

I dunno.

Don't listen to me.

I'm just thinking out loud.

I'll be back with a fun post soon.

DIVERGENT

This may contain spoilers.

I just finished reading Divergent a few days ago. In short, wow.

I don't know how I feel how the first book ended. I just know Divergent really was exciting.

The book didn't start up like I thought but was definitely a page turner around the middle of the book.

I don't want to give away any spoilers but Beatrice was awesome. I admire the parts in the book where she shows her bravery. The small little details are the things that really make a book for me. I love how Beatrice goes to the tattoo parlor to represent her past. I also like how Veronica Roth uses the theme that selflessness and bravery are often the same thing.

I really love how the pit was depicted in my mind. I pictured it as the inside of an ant hill with its many tunnels and hallways. I think it a place that you could easily get lost in.

I hope the Divergent movie depicts the book well like the Catching Fire movie accomplished.

I can't wait to read the Second book which is on hold at the library right now. Hopefully, I will able to read it soon.

I took a couple of tests to determine my faction and concluded that I belong to the Candor Faction: I value honesty.

Remember faction before blood

Book summary (you should really read it if you haven't yet):

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.
Veronica Roth is the New York Times bestselling author of Divergent, the first in a trilogy of dystopian thrillers filled with electrifying decisions, heartbreaking betrayals, stunning consequences, and unexpected romance.

My new fascination: tattoos

For the past two months, I have been fascinated with tattoos. I love them and their stories.

I found myself lost in the tattoo world.  I have been researching and watching various TV shows involving tattoos. I have been looking at different styles and designs. I looked at numerous quotes that I thought would be awesome tattoos.

I even created a folder on my laptop dedicated to tattoo ideas from placement to specific designs.

I found out that I really like script tattoos.

I just wanted to share some of the tattoos and tattoo ideas that I thought were amazing:

Wow...I never thought about bringing How to Kill a Mockingbird into the tattoo world
Isn't this the coolest?

I love how the portrait is made.

This is pretty cool.

Books! I love how the tattoos forms onto the spine making it look like the books are swaying back and forth.
Pretty awesome. I love the book that is falling at the side.

I think I just the significance that this quotes is from one of my favorite movies. Can you guess what movie?

Yeah.

This is one of my favorite ones. I would add on to the quote and say "for wit and inspiration"

Straight to the point. Simple.

This one is cute. I love it.

This one is one I would just get the B+

Yup, this one is really cool

I actually have a picture that I made with this quote on it.

I like to believe this quote that represents all of the Mortal Instruments Series

Yeah you can say I have been thinking about tattoos a lot lately. Maybe even over-thinking.

Computer Class

Normally when I go to my first class we do tons busy work which doesn't really have any real meaning behind it.

I guess you can't wish for much when it comes to a computer class that doesn't have up to date computers. It is such a cliche; I find it strangely funny.

I had this brilliant opportunity in computer class a few weeks ago to write about anything I wanted. We could write a short story, poem, or song.

I took this as my chance to truly write what I wanted.  I toggled over ideas that would be labeled as typical: your idol, your high school experience so far, things you like, and even your favorite thing about yourself. Nothing seemed to spark my interest.

I then googled types of poems. I was sure I was going to write a poem. I saw familar poems and some layouts that I tried before. I stumbled upon a poem that uses mostly questions. It was a format that I heard of but never attempted.

Now, I had a layout plan. Then, I thought about things that I questioned.

Finally, I had my poem.  I printed and turned my paper in. I think was awesome and spot on. Simple and sweet. What do you think?

Here's my poem:
Questions
Why am I writing this?
A project?
An assigned paper?
Maybe I actually found a piece of inspiration,
Hidden among the loads of busy work?
Maybe I found a reason to actually try?
Maybe I looked at a goal, and really tried to succeed?
Perhaps I was so tired of the same repetitive nonsense
That I jumped on a chance to be creative?
To write my true thoughts?
To explain my point of view?
Maybe because this is simply what I was told to do?
An assigned paper?
A project?

Why am I writing this?

I wonder what my teacher thought. I should have asked him.

See you in my next post.

Bye.

My New Love

I absolutely love the Mortal Instruments Series by: Cassandra Clare.

I'm on the third book which is the City of Glass.

I would highly encourage this series.

What's it about?
1st Book's Description (The City of Bones):

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Why is it amazing?

In my opinion the characters are more important than anything. More important than the plot, setting, or writing style. The characters make the story. Clare nailed it when it came to the characters. I love the dialogue and how the characters interact with each other.

They always have something snappy to say at the other. It is amazing how they get anything done in the books so far.

I'll right an updated version of this review when I finish all the books. So far, so good.

Did you hear, it's a movie too?

The movie wasn't the best but the dialogue from the book was pretty much the same which I loved. The ity of Bones didn't get much praise but it wasn't a complete fail. Despite the critics, rumors has spread that the second book the City of Ashes is set in pre-production. They're changing up a lot of things to make it a really big success. I hope the 2nd movie is spot on like the Catching Fire Adaption.

Here's the trailer:

Favorite Quote from series so far:

Excited.

"Hellooooo, Destiny?

Where have you been?

I've been looking everywhere for you."

I know, I know. I been gone for awhile  an awfully long time.
Today, is going to be a quick post too.
Double sorry.

I just wanted to tell everyone that I am really trying to dedicate myself to my writing.
I'm really pumped and I promise that isn't one of those new year resolutions that you never finish. And that is because I actually started writing more before the new year: two weeks into December.
This means that writing is already starting to form a habit in my mind.

I'm super excited.

Wanna sneak peek of my short story's cover?

FYI I only did the text and found the picture for this cover.
Who ever drew this piece of art is awesome.

This quote is by Thomas S. Monson.

I'm so excited. I'm actually putting something together and finishing what I started. Once i'm finished I'll send you guys a link to it on Wattpad.

Nothing fancy but a good start.
Ok, I have to go. Have a great day.

Have a great year.

PSAT

Hey, everyone

Recently I took the PSAT test which standing for the Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test. It is test made by a the college board. A lot of high school students take each year and some middle school students too. My school campus only allows high school students to take the PSAT though.
Anyway, the test was such a drag at the beginning because the teacher had to read this endless list of notes about how to fill in the answer sheet which was pretty self-explanatory: your name, ethnicity, and date of birth. The guidance counselors spent a whole hour checking everyone in and explaining the redundant answering sheet.

I found it very interesting that we had to write and sign a sentence that stated that we weren't in no way going to distribute the test in any form.

After handling all the pretest obligations we got started right way. Every time I neared the the end of the section I had about five minutes left and then I reviewed my test. Once I was satisfied I closed my booklet and then waited. I didn't want to second guess myself too much so I won't go back a second time and review my test.

After three long hours since the start we were done. Done.

I seemed exhausted for no logical reason. I taken many tests before but this test was just so boring. And most tests aren't a problem for me with the boredom issue. I usually am very calm waiting. This time I was just ready to get out there.

The rest of the day was very relaxing though. It was was an easy day afterwards which was nice. I think the teacher half way wanted to give us a break or didn't want to make a lesson plan for the day. Whatever.

See ya in the next post.

More information on the PSAT if you want to know more about. (it can help you get scholarships)

Professionalism

It is something about the word professional that I use to loom towards. I use to be extremely attracted to the word. I associated professionalism with being a grow-up for a long time.  I learned over the years that professionalism slowly lost a lot of meaning for me.

Let me explain: I use to associate professionalism with poise, calmness, control, and 'the proper way to act'. The truth is when I stepped back from a blog that was very corporate I realized something.

My professional visualization was BORING!!!

Professionalism seemed so dull and plain. I wanted nothing to do with the clean white background of the blog. It instantly seemed to disgust me. A professional sense doesn't have to be bare.

Sure, professional means respectful and put-together. But where's the fun? Where the hint of humor? The real personality? Why so mean? Why does your respect have to be so closely associated with anger and yelling? Why so rude?

I get it but I don't get it.

I get that in certain situations the element of a corporate environment doesn't allow less than professionalism but people need to loosen up.

They need to quit the act and start living life without being such a stuck-up. Have some fun. Add LIFE to your LIFE.

Recipe: Yummy. Easy. Sweet.

Today, I made some Monkey Munch or Puppy Chow (whatever you want to call it). It is pretty much nameless. Before you arch your eyebrows up and wonder what I'm talking about, let me tell you what Monkey Munch is. (Someone really needs to give it a new name).

Basically, it is Chex Cereal dipped in chocolate and peanut butter. Then, it is completely covered in powdered sugar.  Doesn't just sound divine. Sugar.  The Chex Company, after years of making it at home, actually created the product and named it Muddies Buddies (that doesn't sound good either).

I can literally make this in ten minutes and have twice as much and half the price. Look at me; I'm being frugal today. Today, I halved the recipe though. I didn't want to make too much. Plus, we didn't have enough powder sugar to coat it all. I was so sad. I'm putting it on the grocery list for next time. My mom is doing this new thing where we grocery shop every two weeks. It supposed to save money and it does save money (guess you know where my new-found frugal-ness comes from).

Recipe Time:
Yeah, my Monkey Munch doesn't look this pretty
since we didn't have enough powder sugar.
But it is still tasty!

Ingredients:
9 cups Chex cereal (any kind)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter, melted
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 -2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions:
1.Measure cereal in large bowl.
2. Set aside.
3. Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter for 1 minute on high.
4. Stir.
5. Cook for 30 seconds longer or until smooth.
6. Add vanilla.
7. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until coated.
8. Pour mixture into large Ziploc bag and add powdered sugar.
9. Shake until well coated.
10.Spread on waxed paper to cool.
11.Store in Ziploc bags or large sealed bowl.

Recipe Note: It helps to add cereal mixture a little at a time if you only have small bags.

I'm thinking about making a big tub of it when the holidays comes closer and sharing it with my friends. They'll love it. Anybody else have some easy to make sweeties. I love suggestions.

Reaction to my 1st post

Yeah, I never thought this moment would come where I made a reaction video but the time has come. Recently, I was scouting for a new blog topic and came a course reaction video. I skipped over it but then came back to it thinking it would be a good idea since my first post was a video.

I never really liked reaction videos but I thought I'll give it a try.

Basically, I cringed the whole time and critic my past self. It was pretty awful but this video isn't all that good either.

Enjoy, I guess.

Oh, yeah and I almost forgot. Here's the link to watch my first blog post.  That way you can watch the video with me and can both cringe together.

I can't believe that it's been about 10 months since I started my blog. Time flies.

See you in the next post. Bye.

Goals

Hey everybody.

It been days since I blogged due to my new obsession The Sims and I had a nasty little virus on my computer.  It was awful. Both the virus and the obsession.

I have a problem. Why are those little people made of pixels so interesting? Today, I told myself that I will not play at all because I wanted to dedicate myself to my writing and exercising. I'm still trying to reach my goal of 1,000 miles. I haven't actually set a date to finish the miles. But I'm hoping that It's by March. That would make it two years since I started which is really sad, but I could still say I did it.

AND I still want to write a novel and publish by the time I graduate high school. That's almost two years away. AND I haven't even thought of a worthy idea to make into  novel.  AND publishers are tough.

Breath.

This actually why  I put the 1000 miles as a goal.Walking/running makes me calm down in a way. I shouldn't be abusing my way of relaxation by setting a goal and beating myself to complete it.

I think that sounded too harsh. I didn't mean for it sound soooooo harsh. Honest. Everyone is probably saying "Calm down, girl. You're still young."

AND that's how I resorted to the Sims, I think. I can screw up their lives and not take any chances with mine. I can blow their budgets and throw parties every other day. I make them quit their job and constantly enjoy life.
One of my Sims even created a novel and their only problem was to make sure their basic needs were in check: hunger, bladder, sleep and hygiene.

Ugh. They make it look so easy.

Cue happy dance!

Hey, hey you. Remember how I told you guys that I recently had the opportunity and was eligible for the National Honors Society. Well, if you don't that's fine. I'll wait while you read that post.

Well, the induction happened on September 26th. And guess who was there? ME.

Yup, that's right was accepted into the National Honors Society (NHS).

Cue Happy dance.

People were talking about how it was such a give-me but I worked hard even when people slacked off. This opportunity it was presented as a give-me but I worked to be given the opportunity.

So in short, hush to my fellow classmates that don't think this is a big deal.

The induction was short and simple. It was fun. I got to eat some chocolate cake and chatted with friends.

So the countdown to get volunteer hours starts now. I have to have 15 hours of volunteer hours before the semester's end. I applied to volunteer at my local libraries and I should hear some  news about how that's going very soon (early next week). Fingers crossed that I get enough credible hours by mid-December.

See you very soon. It's fall break so I'll be blogging twice as much.

Wow, long tune no see

I originally made my post called wow, no long time no see but then stupid auto correct on my phone made the post called wow, long tune no see. I kind of liked it, so I kept the title because it can apply to life and its funny how crazy auto correct make you sound wiser for a change than sound really really stupid.

People can preach so much and not practice it and hate how they do this. I even go back on ,y word sometimes. Long tune, no see. I rant and ramble about people's foolishness just to make you laugh.

I hoped you laughed.

I talk about my life happenings and say how I wake up like a zombie every single day and waddle around doing absolutely nothing productive sometimes. Then I turn around and say how you can be positive.

Long tune, no see.

I pick apart people's bones and say how annoying they are but make myself sound like a perfect angel at times.

I say I'm constantly bored and then turn around and say how you can inspire yourself.

Long tune, no see. (what a weird little saying that totally makes sense now)

I don't know what lesson I'm trying create but I just want you be mindful of this constant humanized act. Yeah, everyone has there bad days, week, month, or even year. I guess I'm trying to say is reach for that lifestyle that you are trying to create.

Live that life with inspiration and positive or what ever you been preaching (as long as it is within reason, of course).

Originally, this post was about me apologizing about being gone for so long. But seriously nobody, including me, wants to hear a halfway apologetic post about nothing. That's useless.

Like my teacher said you can write a whole paper and make it grammatically correct but it says nothing.

Communication skills

On Friday, I was staying after school for tutoring. well, I wouldn't call it tutoring. I would call it extra help for this big test coming up about our "Summer reading" book, The Stealth of Nations. You could learn more about my frustrations with this book here and here. I use the term "summer reading" loosely because my teacher's communication skills aren't the best and failed to contact people about the book. In return, he said he would push the test back. This is good thing because I get extra days to study and prep fro the test. He even decided to have studying and tutoring sessions. I didn't  go to the first two thinking that I get the  gist of those chapters. I finally decided to buckle myself down and go to the chapter 9&10 session. I knew for sure that my teacher was going to drop hints and basically give us the answers on the test so I was ready to take notes and everything.

My friend and I  decided to go with me to the tutoring so we both went to the class after the last bell rang. We stalled a little bit but decided to go. We sat down and three other people were in there. We put down our stuff. I pulled out my book all ready to learn. The teacher started talking and said he was tired and didn't want to do the tutoring today. He gave us a fake yawn and everything. We laughed and sat down. He went back to clicking away on his computer.

A few minutes later the three of them left. The teacher was still clicking around on his computer. I pointed to my watch and then to the teacher. My friend shrugged. I asked my teacher if he was serious earlier about no tutoring today. He said yeah, I was serious. Bye.

I stood there shocked out of mind. What does he mean, tutoring is cancelled? I thought he was being sarcastic earlier. He's always sarcastic! You can tell how sarcastic he is because I italicized, underlined, and made "always" bold.

I told him I had my thinking cap on and was ready to learn. All he said in return without looking up from his computer was sorry. He let us sit there for twenty minutes.

The crazy man. He gets on my absolute nerves.

Both our rides weren't going to be there until an hour later so we went to my sister's practice which was boring as usual. I rather not go into detail about that. It's not important to the story.

When practice ended, my friend's ride was there. Our dad still was no where to be found. I called him and he said he was still at work and he would be there in 25 minutes. I didn't really care to hear that. He was supposed to be here already. I reminded him. My sister reminded him. My mom reminded him. By the way, he got there in 28 minutes.

All I did while I waited was roll my eyes and become angrier by the second. I was so mad. Nothing was going as planned.

I guess you could tell everyone's communication skills were just not working that day.

Volunteering!

Recently I found out that I was edible for the National Honor's Society at my high school. I was so happy and proud of myself. I didn't quite know what the National  Honor's Society (NHS) was but I was interested in what it was about. I had no idea when I went to recruiting meeting that NHS had anything to do with volunteering.
I guess I'm just that oblivious about my school's extracurricular activities.

I also didn't know that it was such a big deal either. I guess I should have now based on the "National" part. The principal said it is a great opportunity and we should definitely sign up which translate into you need to get in this club. I been reading a bunch about volunteering. Yeah, it sounds crazy but I have been researching about volunteering instead of getting my butt up and actually volunteering.

My friends and I have been talking about what volunteering projects we are thinking about doing once we get in the NHS. To be honest, we don't have join the NHS to volunteer in our community.

That's why my friends were talking about volunteering together even if we don't all get in the NHS. And hopefully, we do get in.
